Taking a break from running his restaurant, Sam Paxton (Aidan Quinn) goes to a local bar for a drink, where he witnesses a mob hit. Sam is the only one who reports the murder to police, but he is hesitant to testify in court. District Attorney James Falcon (Brian Dennehy) pushes Sam, realizing this is his chance to make a big case. After his son is attacked, Sam refuses to speak in court.
