Steve D Solid version thanks to Rains. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/25/24 Full Review spencer n A great childhood movie that I always looked forward to being re-released to television! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Low budget, cheesy TV version of the famous fable. Stolid Van Johnson gets to strut in tunic and tights as both the Piper and his lookalike townsman counterpart (why?!) and Claude Rains reprises his Sheriff of Nottingham as the conniving Mayor. The music is Grieg and everyone talks in rhyming couplets. Danny Kaye must have been busy. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Abuse of authority and rats, twin scourges of Hamelin--amazing!! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member No matter what i enjoyed The Pied Piper of Hamelin's cheesy entertaining version of a famous fairy tale.
