Kit V If you want to know what the early 80s Britain felt like and looked like and grasp a sense of the optimism of its youth then this is a movie for you, a ridiculous comedy with a satisfying climatic ending. You will see and hear it all here, the soundtrack for a start is totally atypical of the time (The Police and post-Punk alternative) and the actors are all faces that either went on to do great things or remained in this movie as testimony to a great effort. Let's get one thing straight, Irene Handl was a British legendary character actress, and her part as grandma in this film is hilarious. Eddie Keen on the other hand is a legendary Britiah award-winning stunt biker, do I need to continue? Yes! In this movie you will experience the Teddy Boys, a largely British Based Rock and Roll sub-group, you experience their dancing and attitude. The movie is silly and I will admit that it is not one for those who like to name names and discuss photographic or direction techniques but it is a hell of a lot of fun. As one person pointed out to me, the final stunt was performed on a bike, without wires or CGI technology and it was dangerous and amazing. If you watch this movie for no other reason watch it as a testimonial to Eddie Keen and his bike. It's the stuff of legends. And if you are American and want to know exactly who the British stuntmen are and what British culture felt like in the late 70s/80s then this is a movie not to miss. I cannot give it less that 5 stars even if I wished to.
