Blu B It's terrible. Like the core issue here is there is 3 stories going on trying to be woven together. One is the 4 angels trying to save the wrld and get the 2 to fall in love, the one that takes up the most runtime is the actual romcom between Newton-John & Travolta, and the crime plot which of all three makes the least sense. The actual romcom plot is so shaky and barely holds together. It feels like stuff just happens between them with no real flow of things. Than it tries linking the other two stories to this and it just completely pancakes on itself by end. The actual crime plot, I genuinely can't tell you how it works into this, what happens, or why it happens after he robs the bank. It's so brokenly told and incoherent I just don't get it at all. Than the editing events in reverse, freeze frames and all is out of place and distracting as well from the angel stuff. The editing and pacing is just terrible. Than the humor is just cringe worthy bad at times, makes no sense, or just flat. So you get something that's poorly made, makes no sense a good amount of times, and is terribly unfunny you can see why this just is downhill the entire way. The humor is a major strike against this. The music is alright but it's pretty forgettable along with the subpar direction. Everything else isn't good. The visual humor is just cringe at times right from the mustache at the bank to pretty much every other joke. The diaouge is very subpar in this and really weighs down Travolta & Newton-John reuniting for another go together on the screen. Skip this. It's bad all around. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/07/25 Full Review randumb2020 This movie came out when I was a teenager. I was in love with Olivia Newton-John and she could do no wrong. This movie is far from perfect and most people will pile on it but it's nostalgic to me. Yes it's a convoluted plot with generic dialogue, but it's so enjoyable to see Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta together. They along with the top rated supporting cast deserve a lot better but it's a fun little movie. Also, if you're into '80s music, check out the soundtrack. A lot of good tunes on it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/22/23 Full Review Steve D Could have worked if not for the supernatural nonsense. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 08/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Adorable Travolta. Cute. Oliver Reed & Scatman Crothers are Brilliant. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Terrible movie. It has a really stupid storyline featuring God getting tired of human's behavior and wants to destroy the earth again, but the angels want to prove to God there's still good in the world by making two people Zach (John Travolta) and Debbie (Olivia Newton-John) fall in love. The writing is so bad you can't help but laugh or make an angry expression at the horribly written scenes in the movie. The only thing good about the movie is its soundtrack, lightning didn't strike twice for Travolta and ONJ but like I said the only thing good about the film is its soundtrack. If you really want to watch Olivia Newton-John in another movie besides Grease watch Xanadu which is ten times better than this s**t movie. Take my word for it, if you want to see Olivia Newton-John in the movies watch Grease and Xanadu and skip this one. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Read all reviews
