randumb2020 This movie came out when I was a teenager. I was in love with Olivia Newton-John and she could do no wrong. This movie is far from perfect and most people will pile on it but it's nostalgic to me. Yes it's a convoluted plot with generic dialogue, but it's so enjoyable to see Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta together. They along with the top rated supporting cast deserve a lot better but it's a fun little movie. Also, if you're into '80s music, check out the soundtrack. A lot of good tunes on it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/22/23 Full Review Steve D Could have worked if not for the supernatural nonsense. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 08/23/23 Full Review Gabriel D This movie is really funny and campy today! It's great to see John and Olivia together since Grease. It's VERY retro now. I don't know why this isn't an 80's classic. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Michael C Back in the early 1989s, I was so looking forward to the reunion of ‘Grease' stars Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta. I have to admit I was underwhelmed by the result: ‘Two of a Kind'. I found the two stars extremely attractive and charming, but the supporting angels very annoying — in spite of being played by some really good actors like Charles Durning, Beatrice Straight and Scatman Crothers… all normally solid performers. A saving Grace was the great soundtrack which I played over and over on vinyl. Years later, I rewatched this filmed and actually found it quaint and charming… not as bad as I remembered it. It still is not a great film but it is kind of sweet and corny. Travolta looks amazing and Olivia has an adorable screen presence — it is too bad this ended her leading lady film roles. Again this is not a great film but it is a nice time capsule of these two stars in their prime. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/15/22 Full Review Audience Member Adorable Travolta. Cute. Oliver Reed & Scatman Crothers are Brilliant. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review simon d Oh dear, somebody decided that these two needed to be put back on screen together again even with a ridiculous story. I see that they obviously managed to persuade OLJ to do it by promising to plug her songs with some montage padding but Travolta should have known better. And Oliver Reed ???? fair play for whoever pulled that one off. This film is a cringeworthy mess at best. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
