Derek Malcolm Guardian The film, though scripted by Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais, never strays very far from orthodox Hollywood comedy, though put together with enough skill to be fairly watchable throughout. isla s This is a fun family film. I saw it as a kid and enjoyed it and I enjoyed it having watched it again some 20 years later. Its one of a number of body swap films, like Freaky Friday. I like this one for the situations the two body switched (father and son) people find themselves in. There's funny dialogue and I found it an easy, light and amusing watch all in all. Its a bit dated but then it is from the 80s, so thats to be expected. Not a bad watch. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Of all of the switching places genre of movies, ie. "Big", "Freaky Friday".. I think this is the best. Judge Reinhold was able to play a kid rather convincingly and Fred Savage did a good job as an adult. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member 3.1 enjoyable and still stands in 2021 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/05/22 Full Review Audience Member Ornamental skull brought home from the Thailand causes seldom-seen dad to switch bodies with his son. Not bad and filled with the expected jokes for this type of film. Released in 1988, same year as similarly-plotted 18 Again! and Like Father, Like Son. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review michael w Silly, but fun. I'm getting old enough that I am starting to forget how awful it is to be a kid. This movie is a funny reminder of how much better fully grown adults with jobs and bills have it than the kids do out there enduring the many pains of youth and school. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member I very much liked vice versa it reminded some of like father like son but funnier with judge reinhold and fred savage playing the father and son.one part that gets me is judge reinholds character playing the drums in the department store when he's in fred savage body Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
