Audience Member Private Parts (1972) is a weird black-humor psychological LGBTQ horror of 1972 is like Psycho and Sleepaway Camp in a low budget film a true grindhouse experience. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/25/22 Full Review Audience Member Neon colour images of naked women to start; a naked couple on a bed while spied on - but it gets nasty and odd quickly. Voyeurism, seediness, a sweaty gay priest with a thing for leather and muscle boys, brutal, sudden violence and water inflatables! It is without doubt an odd little number - sleazy and creepy and bleakly, blackly humorous with a cool ending. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Matthew D Creepy, blackly-humorous fun. Bartel does what he does best; makes you cringe, laugh and think in equal measure. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/25/20 Full Review Audience Member A fully realized journey into weirdness, Paul Bartel's singular oddity that is Private Parts represents a milestone in underground filmmaking produced by a major studio. Offering a handful of beautifully disturbing moments interspersed with gallows humor, this way, way, offbeat ode to voyeurism and desire remains surprisingly accessible due to Andrew Davis's immersive cinematography and a strangely magnetic turn by Ayn Ruymen. Perhaps the greatest gift Bartel's twisted genius offers audiences is to celebrate our outcasts and fetishes as perfectly ordinary parts of society. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member A horrifying creepy shocking freak show of horror. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/14/19 Full Review damian l it was darkly comical and freaked out Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
