Serial swindler Bernie Laplante (Dustin Hoffman) makes the first selfless gesture of his life when he helps save injured passengers from a roadside plane crash and then vanishes into the night. This movie has not received much love from critics and I don't quite understand why. Granted, its media satire is sometimes on the nose, but the story is fun and satisfying while also giving real food for thought. Dustin Hoffman absolutely shines in his role as a small-time crook who discovers his altruistic side. Also Geena Davis and especially Andy Garcia give strong performances as a news reporter and a vagrant turned fake media hero, respectively. A fun movie that is well worth watching!

I loved this movie, in my opinion it is a masterpiece, yes, I am serious, it is one of those comedy where you can notice that nothing is missing and nothing is wrong, everything is in place, everything is perfect, the cast, the plot, the performance, every single small detail is gathering to make you love and laugh and enjoy every moment in this movie, Dustin Hoffman is perfect in this role, I love the character that is very human, has its bad and good,
