Larry K Fun movie. I liked how it all played out in the end Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/11/24 Full Review Jelisije J A nice dark comedy drama that starts of a bit slow, but gives us a memorable heart warming third act that leaves me satisfied at the end of the day. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/24 Full Review Petra E This movie has not received much love from critics and I don't quite understand why. Granted, its media satire is sometimes on the nose, but the story is fun and satisfying while also giving real food for thought. Dustin Hoffman absolutely shines in his role as a small-time crook who discovers his altruistic side. Also Geena Davis and especially Andy Garcia give strong performances as a news reporter and a vagrant turned fake media hero, respectively. A fun movie that is well worth watching! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/02/24 Full Review ashraf z I loved this movie, in my opinion it is a masterpiece, yes, I am serious, it is one of those comedy where you can notice that nothing is missing and nothing is wrong, everything is in place, everything is perfect, the cast, the plot, the performance, every single small detail is gathering to make you love and laugh and enjoy every moment in this movie, Dustin Hoffman is perfect in this role, I love the character that is very human, has its bad and good, Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/24/23 Full Review Ben S This is a specific type of movie, I had fond memories 30 years ago so re-watched. lots of now famous people in it , nice touching film Andy Garcia and G.D are the stand outs here. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/16/23 Full Review Steve D Dustin Hoffman's performance didn't work so neither did the film. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Marc Savlov Austin Chronicle Rated: 4.5/5 Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times A little more zip, and Hero might really have worked. It has all the ingredients for a terrific entertainment, but it lingers over the kinds of details that belong in a different kind of movie. Rated: B Sep 17, 2007 Full Review Emanuel Levy EmanuelLevy.Com A misconceived project, inspired by classic Hollywood films of golden age (Nothing Scared, Hail the Conquering Hero) but marred by underdeveloped and rambling script--Stephen Frears first big failure.
