Charlie Lang (Nicolas Cage) is a simple, kindhearted New York City cop. When he realizes he has no money to tip waitress Yvonne Biasi (Bridget Fonda), Lang offers her half the winnings of his lottery ticket. Amazingly, the ticket happens to be a winner, in the sum of $4 million. True to his word, Lang proceeds to share the prize money with Biasi, which infuriates his greedy wife, Muriel (Rosie Perez). Not content with the arrangement, Muriel begins scheming to take all the money.

This isn't a typical Cage action/oddball movie. It is a feel good (a bit unbelievable - Rosie Perez is over the top here) rom com. It isn't as good as Family Man, but it is far and away better than what passes for rom coms today.

I very young Nicolas Cage. Having not read the cast list, I recognized the voice before I realized it was him. Sappy story but makes for a good chick flick. A good reminder that money can NOT buy love nor happiness.

Not an Academy Award movie, but thoroughly enjoyable. Good performances by the four top characters, and a great film for the entire family. This is a movie with a strong story line that holds your attention and reminds me of the days when all films were made to entertain, not shock your sensibilities and standards.

People who don't like this movie need to reevaluate their lives. 100% classic Cage. Impeccable leads and amazing supports. Direction and cinematography is top notch. Definitely worth a watch. Prepare for feel good romantic adventure based on a true story!
