It's the usual nonsense about a mad surgeon deciding that grafting the head of a hunchback on to a beautiful nightclub singer will result in professional approbation and sexual nirvana. The movie treads water at the two-thirds mark, but there are interesting nods to superior works like Les Yeux Sans Visage, Mystery of the Wax Museum and Bride of Frankenstein. A bit of a missed opportunity. The talking head looks silly, the plot is bland but not too awful, and the characters are somewhat decent. It does get a bit slow, and some parts are confusing, especially with the awful dialog. For fans of b-movies.
