Audience Member So boring I couldn't even get past the first 10 minutes. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review harri k Manages to hit most of the points on the list of what's wrong with 90s adventure films. And there's Billy Zane. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Danger Zone is one of those films that I could see others calling “so bad it’s good.” I’m not a big fan of watching movies that fit that criteria, but I must admit I was laughing a number of times at the stupidity of this movie, and with the right group of friends watching along it could become a fun film to mock. There is almost nothing in this film that makes any sense, from the first scene all the way to the last one. So many questions keep popping up, and when the deception and double-crosses are revealed later on it creates even more plot inconsistencies that cannot be explained. It’s clear they were aiming for a fun adventure feel like an Indiana Jones film, but Billy Zane is not a charismatic lead actor who can execute that kind of role. Lisa Collins is flat as the love interest/damsel in distress, and Robert Downey Jr. is underused and saddled with a ridiculous accent. Even though the plot is moronic and unsalvageable, it does feel like they could have made a dumb action spectacle that was worth seeing if they just swapped those two lead actors. (RDJ has the perfect personality to be the leading man in this kind of movie, and Billy Zane is best relegated to the role of sidekick.) One thing you can’t complain about in Danger Zone is the amount of action. It doesn’t slow down much, as if the writers and director thought more explosions and gunfire would distract the audience from the awfulness. It’s also hilarious that this entire movie takes place in Africa and yet the speaking roles are mostly Americans, one Japanese guy, and one Mexican guy. If you’re looking for a good movie to entertain you on its own merits then you can definitely avoid Danger Zone. However, if you derive pleasure from seeing how bad a movie can get, this might be up your alley. Now excuse me while I go submit this movie to How Did This Get Made for a potential future episode. Filmed at the same location as another Nu Image production, the Dolph Lundgren film Sweepers, I realised that as I watched that the week before, lol. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member I almost cried when Robert Downey Jr.'s character died:( He needed so much more screentime. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Seen ages ago, needs to be reviewed Alright at the time I watched this Movie, Ages ago, I wasnt Downey Jr Hater. But still his acting was Dull and even Billy Zane was terrible in this Movie. Dont waste your time. Everything about this Movie is shit. Oh and GAWWWDD DANM, where the Hell did suddenly Ron Silver came out of? What a cheesy Acting. I really feel sorry for those who watch every crap Downey Jr played in. Just because he played in Ironman Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
