About as funny as a keelhauling, McHale's Navy will leave most viewers feeling they've been the victim of a particularly dishonorable discharge.

Leonard Klady Variety A ham-fisted, fitfully amusing lark that quickly runs aground. May 15, 2008 Full Review Mick LaSalle San Francisco Chronicle By the end, this soporific comedy makes 105 minutes feel more like a two-year hitch. Rated: 0/4 Jun 18, 2002 Full Review Liam Lacey Globe and Mail A useless movie. Not funny, suspenseful, moving or even offensive enough to want to torpedo. Just devoid of any conceivable value. Rated: 0/4 Apr 12, 2002 Full Review Mal Vincent The Virginian-Pilot From James Bond, we expect explosions. From McHale's version of the navy, could we have a few laughs? Rated: 1/4 Feb 25, 2022 Full Review Rob Nelson Boston Phoenix All apologies to the handful of Americans who've waited decades for this big-screen update of the '60s sitcom--the result is both awful and awfully irrelevant. Sep 5, 2009 Full Review Maitland McDonagh TV Guide This shotgun marriage of coarse laughs and low-rent action cliches is, of course, utterly predictable: Cutting-edge comedy isn't lurking under the corpses of old TV shows. Rated: 1.5/4 May 15, 2008 Full Review Read all reviews

Greybrother D Sometimes a comedy isn't particularly hilarious, but it's still a fun and enjoyable ride. This film is occasionally kinda' stupid, but if you can't enjoy something stupid once in a while, you might just be telegraphing your own insecurities. The whole vibe here is relaxed, pleasant and fun. I guess they call that a "comfort movie" these days. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/24/24 Full Review Chris N Fantastic movie for easy watching. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/31/23 Full Review mathias g What ever those critics had been smoking must have led to a bad trip. This movie is pure comedy gold. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I really enjoyed this movie. It was entertaining and funny. Tim Curry 👍👍. After I'm done with this I'm going to purchase the DVD. Want to watch a fun movie instead of the same old crap, watch McHales Navy. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Funny as hell and brought back some great memories. Why people don't seem to like it makes no sense to me. I mean critics are just critical and stupid but please people. Should get a 3.5 but gotta do something here. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member One of my favourite movies as a kid Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews
