Chris C A little lighthearted comedy gem from the 90's. Great fun. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/24 Full Review Patrick P A film that one can sit back and laugh at while being somewhat emotionally involved in the plot. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/03/24 Full Review Jay O Classic, funny and timeless. Loved as a kidcand still love today. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/29/23 Full Review Jackson87 If you're in the mood for a comedy that's light-hearted, filled with ridiculous antics and over-the-top performances, then "Nothing to Lose" is a film worth watching. This 1997 action-comedy stars Martin Lawrence as Nick Beam, a down-on-his-luck advertising executive who has just discovered that his wife is cheating on him. Fueled by anger and frustration, Nick embarks on a wild and unexpected adventure with a carjacker named T. Paul, played by Tim Robbins. One of the strengths of "Nothing to Lose" is the chemistry between Martin Lawrence and Tim Robbins. Despite being an odd couple, their contrasting personalities and comedic timing create hilarious interactions that keep the audience entertained throughout the film. Martin Lawrence's comedic talents shine as he delivers his signature blend of physical comedy, witty comebacks, and exaggerated facial expressions. Tim Robbins, known for his roles in dramatic films, shows his comedic chops in this film, delivering an awkward yet endearing performance as a bumbling carjacker who becomes an unlikely ally to Nick. The film's plot may not be the most original, but it's the unexpected twists and turns that make it interesting. As Nick and T. Paul's journey unfolds, they encounter a series of absurd situations that lead to unexpected outcomes. From getting involved with a gang of thieves to attempting to outwit the police, the duo's misadventures are filled with slapstick humor and clever wordplay that keeps the laughs coming. In addition to the comedic elements, "Nothing to Lose" also explores themes of self-discovery and finding inner strength. As Nick goes through a personal crisis, he learns to confront his fears and stand up for himself, while T. Paul discovers that there may be more to life than just crime. While the film doesn't delve too deeply into these themes, it adds a layer of depth to the story and provides some emotional resonance amidst the comedy. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/16/23 Full Review Tom W Critics may pan it, but I'll watch this every couple of years and it always makes me laugh. An underrated 90s comedy gem. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/13/23 Full Review Andre G A funny movie. A guy having a bad day gets car jacked and takes the car jacker on a ride. Then they decide to go on a crime spree together.
