A nearly incomprehensible and largely incomplete experiment in monster movie mayhem and action-packed fantasy. Go to Full Review

It's too ridiculous an adventure tale to be anything but ridiculous, but its weirdness makes it weirdly entertaining. Go to Full Review

Chris H @Chillville Dec 18 This movie defines "B" movie . It has it all. Cargo ship loaded with water sensitive explosive's?- check Bloodthirsty seaweed? Check. Sargasso Sea full of ancient wrecks including a still occupied 16th century Spanish warship? Check So relax and enjoy pure B mayhem See more Jim P 04/27/2024 Now I like old “B” movies but this is dreadful. Avoid See more Dave S 08/08/2022 If you could watch The Lost Continent without sound, it actually looks pretty decent. Sadly, the story is such a convoluted mess with so many absurd subplots that it becomes incoherent and impenetrable. In a nutshell, a ship is lost at sea and ventures into uncharted waters filled with perils. Where it gets complicated is with the characters, a virtual who's who of bad guys – smugglers, thieves, a piano playing alcoholic and conmen, among others. Once they dodge some man-eating seaweed, they find themselves dealing with strange attackers attached to balloons, conquistadors, and a leader who goes by the title El Supremo. Really, it all feels like a bit of a mess and while it could be entertaining in a ‘this is wacky' kind of way, it's really more annoying than anything else. See more 08/04/2017 Oddball Hammer Studios picture about a proverbial ship of the dammed, a group of disparate passengers on a dilapidated cruise liner on their way to South America are struck by a storm that leaves them stranded on a dangerous uncharted island containing all sorts of dangers. Those dangers include various prehistoric monsters and even some remnants/descendants from the Spanish Inquisition who think that's still a thing (OMG, that's so 1478!). It's not terrible, but it is entertaining enough if you're in the mood for prehistoric monster, pirates, and Jules Verne/Rudyard Kipling-like adventures. See more 12/09/2015 Although Hammer are one of the production companies with their name on this, it is an atypical Hammer Horror - it's set in the present for a start. The cast is a little lightweight and the monsters too imagined than out of myth as they usually are from this movie house. See more Read all reviews
