Susan Stark Detroit News Rated: 2/4 Mar 10, 2007 Full Review Lisa Alspector Chicago Reader This appealing formulaic action adventure (1998) displays a lot of conviction in its not-too-flashy action scenes and a little levity in the gradual socialization of Russell's character. Mar 7, 2007 Full Review Bruce Westbrook Houston Chronicle The action is handled fairly well, but it's routine, and there's no satisfaction in seeing Todd waste men who are no more bloodthirsty than he is. Jul 21, 2005 Full Review Niall Browne Movies in Focus Soldier finally deserves a reappraisal. The Kurt Russell starrer is actually a hugely entertaining and visually arresting piece of science fiction cinema – at the centre of it is a bold performance from Russell – one in which he only speaks 104 words. Rated: 4/5 Apr 17, 2024 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com …while humour is sorely lacking in Soldier, the brutalist sci-fi tone holds throughout, and it’s easy to get behind Todd’s stubborn unwillingness to be thrown out with the trash… Rated: 3/5 Jan 8, 2023 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins Russell is quite suitable for a Terminator-like role, where dialogue is at an absolute minimum, physical intimidation is relevant, and action sequences are numerous. Rated: 8/10 Sep 24, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

Dan D This movie doesn't disappoint. Kurt Russell is a one man killing machine. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/28/25 Full Review Gerald H This is far below mediocre. Russel‘s mimics are bound to be emotionless, but they are way TOO emotionless. Even Arnold‘s T800 is vivid compared to this „acting“. Everything else is too cheaply crafted and too poorly written for its time. Only Nielsen and Isaacs shed some light on this stinker. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/08/25 Full Review Charles D The first time I saw it was when it first came out, I thought 3 out of 5 stars. I just re watched it again in 2025 and really enjoyed it. Maybe becoming a real soldier after I saw it the first time made me appreciate it more the second time. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/17/25 Full Review Mario Dwi P Watch it multiple time and still love it. It's the epitome of 90's scifi action flick. Kurt Russel kicking ass in space with probably less word than the Terminator, but it still kicking ass. Even if watching it just for Kurt Russel being there, it still worth it. Less exposition is the better, and this movie delivers so much with so few words. Kurt Russel doesn't even have to say anything, he convey every emotion resurfacing with his eyes and gesture. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/02/25 Full Review Kevin H It might not win an Academy award, but I thought it was a decent, sci-fi and should of gotten much better reviews. I enjoyed it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/11/25 Full Review Joshua M 90s sci with jacked kurt Russell. It's OK popcorn flick with little dialog. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/10/25 Full Review Read all reviews
