Adam Kempenaar Filmspotting We assume that it’s Jeff looking at all those people [in the opening shot], but it’s not. It’s us. We are the first voyeurs. Rated: 5/5 Feb 9, 2024 Full Review Wesley Lovell Cinema Sight Rear Window is a fascinating film whose tension and trappings enrapture the audience, giving them feelings of dread, inevitability, and relief in a seemingly compact 112-minute package. Pamela W I feel that any positive reviews given for this film were 1) a vote based on pity for Mr. Reeves or 2) they never saw the original “Rear Window” with Jimmy Stewart. The beginning felt like an infomercial for spinal rejuvenation therapy/cure. I, like everyone, would have celebrated the cure if it had been obtained but the character’s initial challenges took up too much of the introduction of the movie. The movie felt poorly laid out and thoroughly uninteresting. This was not a nail biter like the original. Even without a comparison to the original it was a boring and ill conceived movie. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/25/24 Full Review Jelisije J An inspiring performance from the Late Great Christopher Reeves, but this was an unnecessary remake and a lesser version of the original 1954 classic. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/31/24 Full Review Steve D Takes too long to get going and when it does it is a poor retread of the original. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Amy L The version they actually showed was the original Hitchcock version, not the 1998 version. We still enjoyed it, just wasn't what we expected (or was advertised). Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/04/20 Full Review Mary Interesting and suspenseful Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/31/20 Full Review Cynthia Very suspenseful! Loved the actors and scenery!
