When marine biologist Steven McKray (Casper Van Dien) learns that a friend died in a mysterious shark attack in South Africa, he decides to find out what really happened. Upon arriving in the village, he meets Lawrence Rhodes (Ernie Hudson), a local hotel owner, and scientist Miles Craven (Bentley Mitchum), who informs Steven of the mysterious increase in shark attacks in the area. When Steven teams up with his late friend's sister for a fact-finding dive, they make a surprising discovery.

The acting, cinematography, and editing aren't even that bad; the characters simply don't engage in anything exciting, despite a flurry of action sequences and shark attacks.

It isn’t the worst shark movie out there (thanks to an surprisingly solid cast) but it’s an very forgettable thriller that forgets its a creature feature from time to time

I found this a fun shark movie even though the story takes it's time to kick in. Doesn't deserve a 0% score will never be as good as jaws.

Another shark movie, this time set to a story worthy of a diagnosis murder episode and featuring Johnny Rico himself on a mission to solve the murder of a friend. By the end the sharks and their titular attacks play second fiddle to a tale of shady economics and gunplay but it still makes for good lazy Sunday B-movie fodder.

★1/2 (out of four) It's strange because I really like sharks and I really like the idea of a good shark movie. Too bad "Jaws" has been the only one worth a dime. Maybe its partially because all these low-budget rip-offs can't actually afford the money to put real looking sharks into the film. The thin plot of this one stars Casper Van Dien. In South Africa the hammerhead shark is starting to mount unprovocked attacks. Some think demons are involved while others think its because of experiments that have been done.
