By the late 1960s, the U.S. antiwar movement had spread from the Ivy League campuses of the east and west coasts to America's heartland. In Madison, Wis., student protests at the University of Wisconsin threatened to escalate into civic unrest when a bomb -- intended for an army research facility -- exploded and killed a physics student. Culling news footage and interviews, filmmakers Glenn Silber and Barry Alexander Brown investigate the events leading up to the incident.

Audience Member It's crazy how many parallels there are to the circumstances today. Well, everything but the protests. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Boring, boring and did I mention boring? The first hand footage is great but seems like just one long clip show. You are suppose to fill in the blanks as to who the people are and what led up to the events. Only really worth seeing if you are into that period or just doing research. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Best documentary ever on the home front during the Vietnam War. Amazing interviews with the folks in the anti-war moverment -- and what normal regular folks they were! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Awesome footage of Vietnam-era Madison. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Excellent source for information on activism and protests (especially but not only anti-war) in the 1960s, focusing on Madison, WI. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member A fantastic documentary about the life and times of Madison during the turbulence of the Vietnam-war era.
