Rated 5/5 Stars •  Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/14/24 Full Review Parker D One of the most bold, inspiring and heartwarming war epics ever, the patriot is a masterpiece from start to finish from the realistic and convincing battle scenes to the stellar performances from Mel Gibson and the rest of the cast, Roland emmerich should be proud of himself for making this intelligent, powerful, imaginative, soulful and profound creative work of cinemetic perfection, Jason Isaac’s plays a great villain I love the way the British are depicted as menacing and accurate to the way the behaved during the war. Emmerich knows how to make a historical action film with passion, valor, inspiration, and having memorable and strong charachteristics, along with muscular narrative, dramatic tension, and a sense of thought that makes a mainstream blockbuster film astonishing and a crowning achievement, this film is a must watch on Fourth of July and it represents the best and everything great about America every American and historian should see this film it is a staggeringly powerful work of film this is the best war movie epic next to saving private Ryan and one of the best films of the early 2000s all hail America 🇺🇸 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 and god bless you all 10/10 Rated 5/5 Stars •  Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/27/24 Full Review Carson P A profound , bold and inspirational work of art and a triumph in historical war movie epic filmmaking Roland emmerich’s critically acclaimed revolutionary war epic with Mel Gibson is a masterpiece on every level and the best movie about revolutionary war this is how you do powerful and deep storytelling, the acting from Mel Gibson is tremendous he deserves an Oscar nomination for the role and as did Roland emmerich for directing the film. The battle scenes are astonishing and realistic I especially loved the staging of the final battle climax and the duel between Gibson and issacs as the dragoon soldier speaking of him he played a terrific villain and gave a Great and convincing performance as one of the British soldiers who were the enemies as did Tom Wilkinson as Cornwallis, every single charachter was compelling and likeable this has some of the best cast ensembles ever and it was tremendous every one did a great job in the film especially Mel Gibson this is in my opinion his best film next to braveheart. And the best film of 2000 Next to gladiator. The patriot represents everything great and perfect about hollywood and movies today and should be shown in film schools as a lesson in how to make a perfectly profound and inspirational historical epic along with saving private Ryan I loved loved loved loved every minute watching it and have no problem with comparing and placing this film with the likes of godfather and Schindlers list it is that perfect.
