Playing more like an extended warm-up routine, “10 Dance” leaves the floor in anticipation of a sequel that it hasn’t earned. As dance movies go, this one doesn’t make it past the qualifiers. Go to Full Review

As an adaptation, 10Dance understands the heart of Inoue Satoh’s manga, and as a film, director Keishi Otomo understands precisely how to craft a journey that embraces the audience. Go to Full Review

The Netflix live-action adaptation of the popular Japanese BL (boys’ love) manga by Inouesatoh, has come to Netflix with great choreography, the same level of yearning, slightly less racism, and a story as incomplete as the manga. Go to Full Review

Maybe there’ll be a more risqué sequel that makes good on all the build-up. As things stand, 10 Dance is a few silky steps shy of a full routine. Go to Full Review
Alex Valencia Q+ Magazine Dec 18
10DANCE is, at its most stripped-down version, a deeply romantic film. It believes that love doesn’t weaken ambition; it completes it. That the perfect dance partner isn’t the one who obeys, but the one who understands. Go to Full Review

Krystle B 1d I loved this movie until the last leg of the story. It felt like whiplash when they went their separate ways only to reunite at the competition, have this beautiful moment, and then part ways again. It was very confusing. The worst part was the ending, though, because they never actually go to the final competition or end up together. Talk about abrupt! There's no closure! I don't know if that's how the comics went, but I feel robbed of a happy ending... See more Z B @Zeke_Baer 1d As someone who has read the entire manga, this is probably the only adaptation I genuinely think is better than the source material. The manga has great concepts, but imo executes them fairly poorly and with a great degree of offensive undertones. The movie takes all the parts I loved about the manga and arranges them in a much more satisfying and enjoyable way. For those who are looking for a love story focused exclusively on romance/passion, this probably isn't for you. But as someone who prefers more grounded love stories (especially ones with a focus on friendship) this is everything I wanted and more. I also tend to love characters that are more morally complex and I feel like this movie does that very well (with Sugiki in particular). And, as is usual with Keishi Otomo, the cinematography is insanely gorgeous, and the soundtrack is great. See more Maya M @Aqyua 2d It was a great movie! The acting was really good. See more Victoria C. @Lovinglife80 4d This is beautiful, flawless film that the Japanese created. Incredible performance and acting.. Ryoma and Keita both did a great job.. I had to watch it over and over.. So sexy... That you would fall in love to this movie. I can't wait for the 2 movie. Highly recommended 10/10.. See more Rhys B Dec 24 The story is fun, emotional and an absolute delight to watch. The leads Ryoma Takeuchi and Keita Machida do a stunning job, bringing so much energy and passion to their roles. Takeuchi is like fire on screen as Suzuki, while Machida burns cold and intense as Sugiki, creating a captivating clash of personality that feels like two speeding comets intertwining in each other's orbit. Perfectly cast, with good pacing and fun characters. I practically found myself dancing along, the energy was just so overwhelming, especially towards the climax. For the first time in my life I feel I understand why people love dance and the craft. It made me gain respect for the real-life participants in these types of competitions and the work they have to put in. This is a movie that had me grinning ear-to-ear and eager for more. Definitely recommend! See more Winsy Winsky W Dec 23 10DANCE is electrifying from start to finish. It’s intense, elegant, and unapologetically passionate—blending the discipline of competitive ballroom with raw emotional stakes that totally pull you in. The chemistry between the leads is off the charts, and the way dance is used as both language and battleground is just chef’s kiss. Every panel feels charged with movement, desire, rivalry, and vulnerability. You don’t even need to know a thing about ballroom dancing to feel the tension in every step. Smart, sexy, and beautifully crafted—10DANCE isn’t just a story about dance, it moves you. If you’re even remotely curious, don’t hesitate. Watch it. See more Read all reviews
