      Critics Consensus

A scattered mob movie that employs every mafia cliche and fails to establish an identity of its own.

Jelisije J An undercover informant goes back to his routes and is torn between betraying his family or serving time in prison......a story told a million times before, but was still worth a watch. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 04/26/24 Full Review Karen V There are a lot of cliches in Mafia type films. And that is because there ARE constant themes in Mafia life. Not all Mafia films are trying to be The Godfather. And they needn't be. This is a gritty, down home and personal, day in the life representation. Some performances don't quite ring true, but I enjoyed the ensemble cast. And the more local feel of the movie. Violent, intense, emotional and for me relatable; I know about "the life" firsthand. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/16/24 Full Review Nico B Good cast but the acting for this cast is lazy and almost comical at times especially during dramatic scenes . I Would compare the directing style to a student project but with a Hollywood budget, despite all that i still watched the whole movie and enjoyed it . Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 04/06/24 Full Review Medicmiggie G Call it cliche, but it holds up. Might follow a familiar gangster storyline, but leaves enough room to keep you intrigued. Most of all, Ribisi steals the show and is just so entertaining. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/17/22 Full Review Audience Member One of my favorites. Excellent work by James Marsden, as always. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member What is this amateur hour, all you supposed critics on rotten tomatoes? First, this movie is full of great actors, and Two you're complaining that it's just another mobster movie. What the hell did you say the same thing after seeing The Godfather? Just another comedy. Just another drama. Just another horror movie. I mean WTF? You make no sense, For those of you who haven't seen this movie yet the description doesn't give you the number of fantastic stars that's in it. Watch this movie and I promise you will not be disappointed but I'm sure there are some of you who will still complain. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
