Audience Member I give it a 4-star rating, mainly because on a technical level, this was an absolutely fantastic movie. It was only shot in a single day, and contains a bit of time travel theory (but it explains it as well). Although it kind of lags during the last third, I still definitely recommend renting it. Those of you who aren't into low budget time travel flicks, may want to skip this one. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member I am a huge fan of time travel, movies or otherwise. This movie kind of blew me away. It's not the typical time travel flick. you know, the kind with the grand scheme to save the world. Well, sort of. It's there, but it's all done in a toss away line. The movie is none linear, and it couldn't be for a more noble cause, happiness. There are no big names in this movie. It is a fun story. The kicker is what happens during the credits. Also, the movie was filmed in one night, in 11 minute segments! Lots of fun! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member This was an interesting one. I feel like it did a really good job of playing to its strengths and avoiding its weaknesses. In addition to the main disjointed (via non-sciencey time travel) love story, there's a number of somewhat interesting side stories that the viewer gets bits and pieces of, and actually one of my only real complaints is that there were some conversations I would have liked to hear more of. Anyway, give it a shot if you think a borderline mumble-y (genre-wise) soft-sci-fi romance-type thing is up your alley (and you have Netflix). Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Time travel films can be complex and intriguing, or convoluted and cheesy. 11 Minutes Ago is the latter. The concept it excellent: a video crew recording a wedding reception encounters a time traveler. The actual plot: said time travel keeps returning the the wedding reception to both bring back clean air samples to the future and romance one of the bridesmaids, becomes contrived and tedious. I had fun with the idea at first, but the film soon dissolves into a banal exercise on how to turn a rom-com formula and make a marginally watchable indie-flick by altering a few details. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member It has an amateur look. That said, believe you me there are few if any other weaknesses with this film and in fact it is one of the best flicks I've seen in years. The story involves time travel and romance, yet takes off from the first two minutes on a path that is entirely original, smart and engaging, yet does not take itself too seriously or come off as pretentious. Another unique factor is how it casts itself to audiences as diverse as the sci-fi male crowd as well as the chick flick female viewers. Why Hollywood hasn't picked this up and re-shot it Blockbuster style is beyond me, it's easily that good. But on the other hand, maybe the magic of this movie belongs right where it is -- in the hands of the independent and free-thinking film extraordinaires who resisted the formulaic and brought this story to life. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Low budget time travel flick. Dude spends way too much time yammering on about living in the moment.
