Monsol E Everything about this is dank... The acting and characters are cardboard. The effects are lousy even for 2000. The story is nonexistent. The few kills are lame. And the double-fake-out ending is dumb...but I think that was all intentional? If so, that bounces it around to being kinda funny! If you wanna see a demon-clown kill some G's in the hood, you've probably got the right sense of humor for this. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/27/23 Full Review Max H Okay this movie isn't "good" by any means. The storyline is ridiculously stupid and some of the effects are pretty bad (especially the CG-even for a low budget of $150,000), and some of the dialogue is cheesy. But boy is it entertaining for it's campy value and humor. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Andrea G il trash del trash, uno dei peggiori film horror che non crea altro che una sgommata di diarrea su un piatto Gourmet con ketchuppe e Nutella mischiata con acido solforico! Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 08/29/22 Full Review Audience Member Come alive Killjoy come alive!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member There have been five Killjoy movies. How about that? I mean, who knew? This poor nerd named Michael just wanted to ask out his friend Jada, who has a gangster boyfriend named Lorenzo, which leads to him getting beaten down, then later shot and killed. Before he died, Michael had been trying to animate a doll named Killjoy. A year later and Jada has left Lorenzo for another gang member named Jamal yet has never dealt with Michael's death. And now, Killjoy is real, living inside an ice cream truck and killing off all the members of the gang. Somehow, Killjoy has merged with Michael's spirit in order to kill more people and gain power. I mean, he has enough power to get shot multiple times and spit bullets out of his mouth, so there's that. Only Jada — who loved Michael — can kill this demon by finding the doll and killing it. Yet Killjoy has an entire army of the dead who answer his commands. You have to love a movie that ends with a guy going under the covers to go down on the film's heroine and reveals that he's really a murderous clown. Ángel Vargas played Killjoy in this first effort, but he declined the sequel Killjoy 2: Deliverance from Evil. Trent Haaga took over the role and would play the part in Killjoy 3, Killjoy Goes to Hell and Killjoy's Psycho Circus. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Killjoy is an irritating film that ties both horror and gangster into the same genre, and it does that poorly. It's one of the worst things I've seen when it comes to horror elements, it's not the worst when it comes to the gangster elements but it's still terrible, it's probably its best when it comes to its comedy elements. So I guess I'll say it's a mixed opinion between terrible, ok, and watchable. It has many, many flaws going into this. The visuals are rather cheap, like even for a low-budget comedy/gangster/horror movie. The writing is all over the place to the point where it doesn't make any sense. The camera work is acceptable because it isn't too grainy or blurry, and there is some professionalism in the compositing and framing and getting the correct angles. The acting from Angel Vargas as Killjoy the clown isn't too bad, Vera Yell as Jada and J. Kareem Grimes as Michael weren't terrible either. But there were some bad performances. William L. Johnson was absolutely awful as Lorenzo. Daniella G. was also pretty awful. She was a little too over her head when playing her character, who I can't remember the name of. Overall I'd say I recommend this to the type of people who like cheesy gangster/horror-comedy films that mostly parody black horror films or just horror films in general. I wouldn't recommend this to people who like full-on professionalism and great acting because this movie has none of those. 2.5/10 for this one folks!
