While it was not an epic like Braveheart (1995) or even Gladiator (2000) or even, say The Last Samurai (2003) the screenplay, if not the performances altogether have a lot left to account. The historical value or events of the 5th century Europe and that of Eurasia in this movie also leaves a lot to speculation and have been written and debated for generations. But in this context it tried and died in terms of overall amusement & entertainment. Just my $0.02 worth.

Do you like REALLY bad movies? Well have I got one for you... Pointing out that the blue eyed Gerard Butler and a host of other caucasians play asian Huns is picking low hanging fruit. That doesn't even scratch the surface of everything terrible (terribly awesome that is) about this epicly bad film. Attila deserves it's own Mystery Science 3000 episode STAT.

Love Gerard Butler and Alice Krige, and they were very good, as was Powers Boothe. Interesting screenplay and good production.

Sorry, could buy it. Butler as Attila? Come on!! This felt like cheesy made for tv movie. It lacks that block buster feel. Oh well.

It is the sweeping background score of this miniseries that drives the audience through most of the film, even at points where it's dragged down by poor dialogue and acting. A few of the aerial shots are fantastic and for a television movie, Attila has great quality. Gerard Butler is half successful in playing the titular character, but it's story is quite good to drive it through the entire length.

It's made for TV, so obviously the production standard is B Grade, instead of empires fighting it seems more like small tribes. Full of historical inaccuracies and stretched for 3 hr long but still it's a nice watch and didn't seem to drag for one bit.
