Steve D Depressing and predictable but never interesting. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/16/23 Full Review Audience Member This has a fairly paint by numbers plot of a man fighting back when developers try to force him off his family land, but it was made more fun by the filming locations being an area that the wife was familiar with, so she spotted a few things that I might normally be aware of. Decent exploitation fare, give it a rental. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member What you see is what you get, son. Tom Hunter is a simple man, raising his son on his own that returns home to live with his father and siblings and raise his son as he was raised. A real-estate mogul arrives in town and tries to buy everyone's property, but the Hunter family won't sell. The neighbors try to pressure the Hunter family, to the point where bad things start happening to them. The Hunter family may eventually need to start pushing back to get everyone off their case. "You're old." "Older than some, younger than others. Jonathan Demme, director of The Machurian Candidate (2004), Philadelphia, Beloved, Murder Incorporated, Handle with Care, Something Wild, and Caged Heat, delivers Fighting Mad. The storyline for this picture is entertaining and fun to watch unfold but the plot is pretty straight forward. I did enjoy the fight scenes and felt the acting was pretty solid. The cast includes Peter Fonda, Gino Franco, Harry Northup, and Scott Glenn. "Sometimes I worry about you, young man." I DVR'd this movie off a local cable channel because it starred one of my grindhouse favorites, Peter Fonda. He's a very eccentric and unpredictable dude so I looked forward to this role. I did enjoy the father/son relationship and thought the overall movie was above average. This is far from a classic, but is definitely worth a viewing. "US Citizens have the right to protect ourselves. Grade: B- Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member peter fonda plays a man fighting against the odds Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a great movie from Corman productions directed by Jonathan Demme that has languished in obscurity for many years and finally is released on dvd from Shout Factory. It is one of the few movies that Peter Fonda is the leading man as opposed to co-starring with Dennis Hopper, Warren Oates and others from this period of films and his acting is quite good as you see in Ulee's Gold, a much later film. As Peter Fonda points out in the commentary he is shooting the bow left handed in the movie while for no apparent reason other than a marketing mix-up in the poster he is depicted shooting right handed. Definitely one of the better efforts from a highly productive era for Corman films. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Lone Warrior Peter Fonda grabs his bow & arrow and starts fighting mad against evil corporate strip miners who are desperate for his land. But it takes the death of his brother, his pregnant sister-in-law, his father, and the old barn before he finally starts to kick some serious ass. Decent Roger Corman exploitation directed by a green Jonathan Demme, but it's not Race With The Devil. VF. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Read all reviews
