Michael Booth Denver Post What makes The Inheritance so watchable, and so different from recent couples dramas like Closer, is that these privileged people are decent, likable and struggling to do the right thing. Rated: 3/4 Feb 4, 2005 Full Review Bob Longino Atlanta Journal-Constitution In his role, Thomsen is strong and convincing. Rated: B+ Dec 9, 2004 Full Review Kenneth Turan Los Angeles Times Highly dramatic and intensely emotional, blessed with strong themes and an unstoppable narrative drive, it is adult, intelligent entertainment of a kind we rarely see these days. Rated: 4.5/5 Oct 8, 2004 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...there's absolutely no denying the effectiveness of Thomsen's heartbreaking performance... Audience Member Per Fly directed film where we meet a businessman and his young wife. They live in Stockholm and things are nice - he owns a restaurant, she is an acress. His father dies and must return to Denmark to take over a falling company. This is crucial to they're lifes. We go through loads of downers here. Slowly everything is splitting apart and the inpact of the little family is serious. Well acted and this film takes up many important things in life. Mostly not how to deal with them, but at the same time there are seldom many choices here. It's rather long, but never dragged. It's not pure entertaniment value, but a sad and solid story that makes it something to remember. 7.5 out of 10 glass tables. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Outstanding Danish movie. Rent it and you won't be disappointed Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Well-made if heart-rending film that might better have been titled "Ironheart". http://www.cinemaguild.com/inheritance/index.htm Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Powerful drama, combined with brilliant performances. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Wow. I watched the first part of this over a week ago, and I had the darnest time putting it back in the player because I knew what was going to happen. Once I put it back in, though, and I watched the inevitable unfold, I was struck by the painful beauty of the whole enterprise. Ulrich Thomsen gives a subtle and amazing performance that will break your heart. 3,5/5 Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Read all reviews
