Christy C It was terrible. They left out so much of the book version that it just really bombed for me. The characters that were there were just not right either. Nobody seems to mention that it is based on the 1st of the Dean Koontz version of Frankenstein ( which is a great series of books btw ) Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/24/24 Full Review Joel H I probably shouldn’t get after Frankenstein (2004) too much, since it was a made-for-TV movie that was supposed to be a pilot for a whole series, but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s just not good. Even without the unsatisfying cliffhanger ending, this Se7en wannabe still has a convoluted story and weak acting. I like Parker Posey, but this role just didn’t feel right for her. And Adam Goldberg’s constant wisecracks felt forced. It’s also strange because this movie is only 88 minutes long, yet it really seemed to drag at times. I’m not surprised that this Frankenstein series didn’t get picked up. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 10/13/24 Full Review Ian G Inept, poorly conceived, ridiculously cast. Directed so poorly that it's possible a stooge like me might have done better. Every scene is gloomily dark with dripping water permeating buildings, and plenty of bedraggled rats, cats, and freaks to keep things popping along. It's the present, with 200 year old constructed reassemblages of parts of people walking among us. Who seem to like living in - did I say "living" in? Oops. Apartments with darkness, drips, cats and rats all fighting fir camera time. And getting it. Cops find a murdered chap who it's found had two hearts and multiple upgrades fitted. By Victor, we assume. Frankenstein. He's survived a long time too. It's all a hopeless mess. I didn't watch it to its doubtlessly gross end, it was as truly dreadful as that. Being made for TV is no excuse. Scripts can be written - or they can be perpetrated. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/21/23 Full Review Steve D Some interesting ideas that work far better in Koontz's books.
