The atmosphere of the festival is effectively portrayed ... and there are few decent laughs. Go to Full Review

Acidic, dyspeptic, darkly funny and filthily rude, Festival is that rare British beast: a good ensemble drama. Go to Full Review

Here's a tip: when making a film about the comedy portion of the Fringe Festival of Edinburgh, make it funny. Go to Full Review

For the most part, the stories are completely unrelated and therefore suffer from a feeling that some of the strands are completely redundant. Go to Full Review

Festival is like the Nashville of the fringe scene; a multi-character exercise that shows writer/director Annie Griffin's wonderful ability to juggle a large cast with an enjoyable story and constant laughs. Go to Full Review

07/26/2011 More dramatic than the Edinburgh festival ever gets, the ensemble plot isn't bad, but most of the characters are annoying. See more 07/24/2011 actually saw a scene of this getting filmed one night. decent. See more 07/18/2011 I might be a bit biased because I'm an Edinburgh resident but I love this film. It makes me feel so much better about having to live in Edinburgh in August. Schadenfreude is a wonderful thing! It also seems to manage to capture the mad mood of the city during the Festival and is laugh out loud funny though. Bias aside it's a delightful quirky little black comedy. See more 03/09/2009 This film isn't very good. It tries too hard be an English dogme comedy but this is no Festen, its more like Mike Figgis's Hotel and if you know what im taking about, you know that that's not a good thing. Highlights are Chris O'Dowd & Clive Russell's performances, a star each! See more 10/28/2008 This movie is a bit episodic but there are some absolute gems in there, especially the play by the Canadian troupe. The Amazon.co.uk reviews and the IMDB reviews and discussion threads are some of the funniest reads I've had in a bit. See more 09/07/2008 Works better as a TV series maybe. It has its moments though! See more Read all reviews
