Not quite the absolute perfection that is its original 3 season-run, but the movie is still (like the show) a lot of fun, with great laughs, more clever quips, sharp writing, and it's great to see Amy Sedaris lead a film and her amazing character acting!

There is only one reason to watch Strangers with Candy and that is Amy Sedaris. She was the main lead of the TV series of the same name of which this movie is a prequel. The premise is that a 40 something ex junkie female goes back to school to get a degree. Its sad that Sedaris isn't all that well known because she is a funny entertainer. The script could have been slightly more polished but this is a minor grievance. Give strangers with candy a shot, you just might go back and watch the TV series. (Crazy over the top comedy film staring Amy Sedaris).

I saw strangers with Candy on my laptop and was pleasantly surprised. Amy Sedaris is hilarious and she is in top form in this hilarious movie which is a prequel to a show of the same name. It's a crime that she isn't all that well known and useless talents like Amy Schumer are. The basic premise is that a 40 something woman who also happens to be an ex junkie returns to high school. Shenanigans ensue and the cast is ably supported by both known and unknown faces.
