Joshua Land Time Out Rated: 3/5 Nov 17, 2011 Full Review John Anderson Newsday Shot with remarkable confidence and an understated eloquence. Rated: 3/4 Jun 21, 2007 Full Review Kirk Honeycutt The Hollywood Reporter Less about finger-pointing than a plea for India to confront its past. Jun 15, 2007 Full Review David Walsh World Socialist Web Site The film is a worthy effort. The scenes of 'ethnic cleansing' in 1984 are horrific, especially an efficient, cold-blooded attack on a train. Feb 15, 2021 Full Review Bob Strauss Los Angeles Daily News A work of evident passion and outrage, Amu is also remarkable for its humanism and persuasive, natural presentation. Rated: 3/4 Jun 15, 2007 Full Review Chuck Wilson L.A. Weekly The flashback sequences are vibrant and intense, and the film's long closing shot is so dense with feeling for a nation and its people that Bose deserves to be noted as a filmmaker to watch. Audience Member Very well made movie. A good story and well directed and edited. The leads have done a great job. A sad time in recent Indian history which hasn't had enough coverage , a story which deserved to be told Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Between a 6/10 and 7/10, Amu stumbles dramatically but is clearly a labor of love for the activist filmmaker, as she breaks all the traditional inhibitions of Bollywood to remind the world of -- and, for most of us, reveal for the first time -- one of the most shameful episodes in Indian history. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member A film very directly pointing out the problem of Indian sectarian violence and showing some of the painful consequences. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Excellent film about a young women who discovers secrets about her past. Very beautifully filmed and well acted. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Konkona Sen was ok.. but the storyline was not good. pretty unrealistic, when they are trying to portray a real incident. some scenes were overdone.. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member loved konkana sen's performance in this film. raw. real. so not ur typical bolywood flick. one thing bollywood has mastered is the art of making you succumb to heartwrenching scenes that leaves u bawling your eyes out. it gets me every single time *sniff* *sniff* Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews
