Manohla Dargis New York Times A touching and tender valentine to a lost New York, a city that now exists only as a hallucination. Rated: 3/5 Jan 6, 2011 Full Review J. Hoberman Village Voice A highly personal movie, Go Go Tales finds Ferrara in a frenzied yet pensive mode. Jan 4, 2011 Full Review Joshua Rothkopf Time Out A typically lax late-period Ferrara work, far from the glories of King of New York. Rated: 2/5 Dec 22, 2010 Full Review D.M. Palmer Vague Visages Abel Ferrara’s films of this period address the destruction of worlds, and the persistence of exiled spirits looking to stake a claim for their personal version. Nov 9, 2023 Full Review Neil Bahadur The Film Stage If, at this moment, perhaps I'm thinking Go Go Tales may very well be Ferrara's masterpiece, it's because of all of the above - a fight for the uncommodified body. Audience Member brilliant Altmanesque look at a New York strip club from Abel Ferrara. Funny, dramatic, sexy, sleazy, wonderful. Willem DeFoe, Bob Hoskins, Matthew Modine, Sylvia Miles and Asia Argento are all great in this. Quirky, colourful eccentric characters and sexy gorgeous strippers :) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Opera corale nera e claustrofobica ambientata nel mondo della lap dance. Stavolta Ferrara non sciocca ma diverte. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Its aura of nostalgia is infrequently beguiling, but it lacks in the ineffable glue of An Altman ensemble piece Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member asia argento can't dance worth crap. amazing how she dialed this one in. not a great story, and the idea that matthew modine's character wasn't gay was a little hard to believe. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member The heart and soul of a gentleman's club, in equal doses of comedy and spiraling chaos. Willem Dafoe at its best. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member I never truly loved Ferrara's style, although I watched many of his movies. This one is better than many others, still not so good. I watched it mainly for the many italian actors in it. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
