Amy Nicholson I.E. Weekly Outrage overkill that gives as much weight to the government trashing Steve's house and locking his cat in the attic as it does their desecration of the First Amendment. Rated: C Feb 3, 2008 Full Review Carina Chocano Los Angeles Times As sad as it is to realize that youth activism in this country is dead, it's sadder still to find yourself agreeing that they have a point. Rated: 4/5 Nov 9, 2007 Full Review Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times Somewhere between documentary and dramatization, fact and impression, Strange Culture molds one man(TM)s tragedy into an engrossing narrative experiment. Audience Member This is potentially highly compelling material. If only the filmmakers had not bothered trying to splice their riveting documentary footage with various but unnecessary reenactments. Still, 'Strange Culture' provokes a lot of thought. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Horrible acting. Interesting topic. Filmed like a short. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member The most inept and boring film I've ever seen about injustice. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member A bit odd as far as documentaries go, but I enjoyed it and found it informative. As an art history major, it was an important film for the message it sends. I would suggest anyone with more than a passing interest in art to watch this film, if not as a cautionary tale then as a challenge to move forward under whatever circumstance stands in your way. And, of course, Tilda Swinton is, as usual, perfect. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Horrible acting. Interesting topic. Filmed like a short. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member quite an interesting method of documentary storytelling. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
