David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...an above-average piece of work. Rated: 3/4 Jan 29, 2021 Full Review Steve Biodrowski ESplatter ... you do not have to be a gore-lover to love this movie. Jul 5, 2008 Full Review Amber Wilkinson Eye for Film The film moves along at a crackling pace and the action shifts slickly from gathering menace to outrageous violence without missing a beat. Rated: 3.5/5 Jun 14, 2008 Full Review Scott Weinberg FEARnet Derivative, obvious, and simplistic, but it's also shot with a lot of style, edited with a lot of kick, and (best of all) it knows just when to deliver its goods and roll the credits. Josh M Derivative entry into the murderous family subgenre of horror. Minimal amounts of gore interspersed between scenes of mediocre rednecks terrorizing the victims. None of it is scary, and the climax isn't as rewarding as purported by critics. It doesn't come close to Texas Chainsaw, Wrong Turn, or any Rob Zombie film, or even Wolf Creek. There's some decent camerawork and acting. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 10/14/24 Full Review UnleashedTraining101 I'm an Aussie and I love to see decent Aussie movies. The plot was derivative, but the violence and overall tone was very well done. I wasn't looking for Shawshank Redemption, I was looking for well crafted horror escapism. This film delivered the goods in minimalist format. But one thing that annoyed me greatly was when they catch a snapper while fishing and he says it's a flathead. They could've used one minute on Google to get that part right. But overall, very entertaining, yet simple in execution. Serves its purpose. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/06/24 Full Review Nicholas B I've watched this movie many times. Classic example of aussie horror. Gory suspenseful etc. Love it!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/26/23 Full Review Emilliano Jr S The title was kinda misleading but it was entertaining. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/08/23 Full Review Thom G Although there's nothing groundbreaking or unexpected about Storm Warning, it delivers the right amount and types of action, tension and scares that you'd expect from this kind of film. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Joel C This is a good entry to the "Backwoods Family" horror genre. The start of the film isn't very strong but it gets us to where we need to be, which is a full bogan pigsty home to two crazy brothers and their "poppy", who they're terrified of. This film suffers the same lazy writing of entering another person's home and justifying it by saying "it's not breaking and entering because no one's home". But, from then on the characters come to life and things get a bit intense. The husband and wife main characters don't suffer as much as they should, because the punishment they give to the crazy family dramatically outweighs what was done to them.
