Audience Member I know nothing! California is set to become an American state when numerous Hispanics lead by an incoming Mexican general plan to revolt and take the state back from America. An Irish/Mexican local returns to the land that was once occupied by his shunned mother. His family tree is largely responsible for much of California as we know it. He will need to convince his people, despite his Irish decent, that he is willing to lead them against the invading general and rebels. "I can only pray for you." "Please do." Hamil Petroff, director of Runaway Girl, delivers California in only second motion picture directed. The storyline for this picture is fairly straightforward, though the characters are unique and fairly interesting. The script, setting, and action are all very average. The cast delivers mediocre performances and include Jack Mahoney, Faith Domergue, and Michael Pate. "Talk like that is treasonous. You watch your tongue." I came across California on Netflix and decided to add it to the queue. It was interesting and had some worthwhile sequences, but it was an average movie overall. The interactions between characters was interesting, as the main character was unique to most main characters in westerns, but the overall film was fairly average and only worth seeing for fans of the genre. "We will find this wolf in sheep's clothing...even if we need to slaughter the lambs." Grade: C Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Read all reviews
