Nice performances from Shearsmith and Serkis, and some outrageous ketchupy grossout, though I have to say The Cottage has nothing like the rigour, originality or power of Williams's debut. Go to Full Review

The Cottage is a film that knows how to play to its strengths, namely making the most of its modest budget and not even attempting to break the B-movie glass ceiling. Go to Full Review

'The Cottage' doesn't have enough horror to satisfy horror fans and not enough comedy to satisfy everybody else. Go to Full Review

The degree to which the movie is redeemed by its impossible-to-anticipate third act is consequently quite staggering... Go to Full Review

Oaklee D @ODie63 Oct 29 A British horror comedy that starts off as a heist film and ends in complete chaos which made me have an absolute blast. Definitely worth seeking out. See more Shaminder D 10/11/2023 The Cottage is an excellent mix of comedy and gore! See more Jerod S @jeroduptown 10/03/2023 You'll find some siblings that botched a kidnapping in the cottage. You'll find a mouthy spice girl. You'll find a couple of asians. And you'll find a guy with a mutilated face that lives under the floor. And it all adds up to annoying. See more isla s 09/03/2022 This is a very dark comedy horror film. It features some jump scares and some scenes reminded me of other horror film like The Shining and Texas Chainsaw Massacre. There is a comedic, farcical nature to it as well, infact it reminded me a little of the Inside No9 episode 'A Quiet Night In', with the bungling, arguing burgulars. Its not exactly a constantly laugh out loud film, unsurprisingly and you could argue its slightly cliched in terms of the horror aspects perhaps but it does have a darkly comic side to it and I thought it was a somewhat suspenseful watch. If you like jump scares and trying to guess what might happen next, then this is worth a watch, yes. See more justin t 02/17/2022 It looked good. Nice use of camera movement. I didn't like the look of the monster. I thought that it looked a bit fake and unoriginal. The sound was good. The music, dialogue and effects were all good. One of the guy's voices had too much bass in it for my taste. It was a funny story and not that complex. It was well acted and entertaining. It wasn't too long and that's a good thing. It made me laugh and it made me jump. It didn't feel that original or memorable though. A funny and silly movie with some gore. The monster was a bit disappointing.
