There is a plot twist that ruined the film in its entirety for me the first time I watched it, I found it to be unrealistic to the characters as they were portrayed, however, upon viewing the film a second time about half a year later, the twist had plenty of hidden evidence in the first and second act. I can now, after shifting my perspective whilst viewing the film, buy the twist as well as enjoy the final act though-rally. Despite what the US dvd cover would have you believe, this film is by no means a gore-fest and is quite restrained in execution. Don't expect a spooky creep out of a film either, while there is one genuinely terrifying segment, what will stick with you is a sense of melancholy and slight dread. If you are the kind of person who cannot watch a film without talking, this is not the movie for you. Expect to feel a lot of carefully constructed emotions with this one.
