It's meant to be cute and harmless, preying on romantics, but it registers more as complete absurdity, minus the soothing touch of a capable filmmaker. Go to Full Review

Kaitlyn K Jan 13 This has been one of my favorites and it's one of those films I come back to over and over again. See more 06/12/2020 Reading a synopsis of "Camille" (2009), it is little wonder most people either have never heard of it or did but avoided it. Billed as an action-adventure/comedy, it is an odd entry into those genres. The story follows an enthusiastic new bride (Sienna Miller) and her reluctant new groom (James Franco) on their way to Niagara Falls for their honeymoon. A motorcycle accident leaves her dead. This is the stuff of a personal tragedy. But fantasy inexplicably allows the bride to act alive, though she soon starts decomposing. Strangely, the groom grows to appreciate her more and more in a quest to let her have that honeymoon trip. Along the way, there are some laughs concerning her deterioration while she remains cheerfully in denial about her condition. The couple meets an older cowboy (David Carradine) whose aging pastel-colored horse show is a metaphor for the bride's unwillingness to let go of life. This highly romantic film is an unusual companion piece to the far more famous dead person romance "Ghost" (1990). In addition to Carradine's welcome presence, there is nice work from Scott Glen as the bride's uncle and the groom's parole officer, and Ed Lauter as a dutiful police officer. Sienna Miller is quirky and beautiful as the doomed girl and James Franco has rarely been more appealing or handsome as her bad boy, charming spouse. It is a comedy in the classical sense due to its almost happy ending, but "Camile" is, much more so, a beautiful, sentimental, and ultimately very touching love story. See more 09/11/2018 Unique, weird, quirky, and one of the best and most touching endings I've ever seen. A treasure of a film. See more 11/19/2016 A romance, horror, crime and road movie all in one! Not sure what it''s all for, but it sure is different! See more 12/26/2015 This movie has received many negative reviews and probably the viewers haven't really watched it till the end. I thought it was cute in it's own way: two people, a girl who loves a delinquent that doesn't really love her get married. During the honeymoon trip she dies but she's still alive through the power of her love. While their adventure continues the two bond and understand the real meaning and the feelings of one who cares about you and would do anything for you. Actors were great, the movie carries a romantic side to it even if some might find the relationship between a living corpse Camille (NOT zombie) and Sylus a little strange. The ending is not quite the ending you might expect but actually sweet. See more 07/30/2015 Camille is a romantic, funny and strange movie. See more Read all reviews
