Hank Sartin Time Out Rated: 1/5 Nov 17, 2011 Full Review Elizabeth Weitzman New York Daily News Franois Velle's local crime drama is so earnest, it feels unkind to tell the truth -- which is that we've seen this story, told in just this way, too many times before. Rated: 2/5 Jun 19, 2009 Full Review New York Post A tired and derivative plot builds up to an unconvincing series of shootings with which the movie fills its violence quota. Rated: 1/4 Jun 19, 2009 Full Review Hank Sartin Time Out Chicago Rated: 1/5 Sep 16, 2011 Full Review Prairie Miller NewsBlaze A slice of life mobster tale about bottom feeder Bay Ridge Brooklyn hustlers in the shadow of the Verrazano Bridge, The Narrows manages to be both lyrical and brutal. Nov 25, 2009 Full Review Avi Offer NYC Movie Guru Although it offers nothing fresh, new or surprising and somewhat falls apart in the messy third act, The Narrows, nonetheless, manages to be an often captivating, visually stylish drama with solid performances and sharp dialogue. Rated: 6.75/10 Jun 19, 2009 Full Review Read all reviews

charles r Absolutely beautiful. The actors.. All of them are brilliant. The story is ..realistic and beautiful. The critics of course hate it because it isnt built on upper middle class tropes. But it is one of the better movies ive ever seen Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/15/23 Full Review Audience Member D'Onofrio is my hero! Fantastic actor! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member As one might expect for a movie about a photographer the cinematography is of a high standard. The stills are especially artsy with lots of feeling and emotion. Sex, smuggling, drugs, cash, fighting and killing and the perfect Italian American free lifestyle comes to the forefront in a brash and hard way with a narrow mind set adding to the stupidity comes across well. Nibbles: Pesto Pasta. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member A crime drama that's awfully familiar! 23/8/2013 Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member A movie set in Brooklyn (shocker!) concerning a young guy who's being forced to choose between the neighborhood he's grown up in and what he really wants to do, photography and date a girl he met at school (even though he's actually engaged to another girl). He gets a job as a runner of diamonds for a mobster, who's one of his father's longtime friends. The plot sounds familiar, but is still barely interesting enough to keep your attention. The best acting jobs are from Titus Welliver (also excellent on Deadwood) and Vincent D'Onofrio (formerly of L&O: CI). Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member good story and setting , well acted and has some twists to it Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
