Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times If their stories don't persuade you to ditch the Dasani, vivid shots of how water bottle refuse is turning our oceans into "plastic soup" should do the trick. Audience Member There was a lot of good information but at times relies on emotions more than logic. At one point, this documentary postulates that there are negative health effects from living by oil refineries and plastic producers. While some of the interviewees list off their health issues they believe are connected to their proximity to these plants, and they give their sob stories, no actual health statistics or hard science of any kind is offered to confirm their beliefs. And Tapped doesn't directly address the main reason why I drink bottled water: contamination from other sources. When I was in elementary school there was an entire scandal related to lead in our drinking water-and when we moved, my family's house was only outfitted with well water and a faucet that didn't accommodate Brita filters. As it turns out, there were high levels of arsenic in the water. And we kind of had to live off of bottled water. Honestly, if we had standardized ways of consistently testing all of the water sources I'd use and fixing issues when something is problematic, I'd get off bottled water. But until I can trust that my water doesn't have lead or carcinogens you can't scare or guilt me into changing my ways. This documentary also lacks the understanding of how government agencies function and why they might fire someone for stirring up the community. The other thing is that they don't make a distinction between public and private sources of tap water, and claim that all tap water is tested, which is not factually true at all. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a really good Documentary from 9 years ago. I had no idea how much damage bottled water is doing to the environment. This is documentary just shows how we as consumers are so easily convinced that bottled water is better for you when in reality they are just taking water our of the tap and bottling and selling it back to you. Well done! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member a must watch for everyone Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie gives a very eye opening look into how bottled water companies are destroying the earth and destroying people. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review thomas a "Tapped" is an important documentary that shows how harmful the effects of plastic bottled water are for the environment. After watching this, you are guaranteed to stay away from bottled water (unless you don't care about the plastic waste polluting our rivers and the Pacific Ocean). Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Dear Americans! Insist on your god-given access to free water! The same way you insist on your god-given access to other countries' oil... I mean YOUR oil! Ignore the fact that you live in a country with one of the highest CO2-emmissions which cause the climatic change the documentary talks about. (http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:CO2_per_capita_per_country.png) Please ignore the fact that countries like India have to live with the abuse of drinking water for a long time, f.e. caused by Coca-Cola (http://www.globalresearch.ca/coca-cola-causes-serious-depletion-of-water-resources-in-india). And please ignore the fact that you're stupid enough to build entire cities in deserts ("Texas triangle"), with hundreds of miles of water pipes! Idiots!
