At under 90 minutes it appears the filmmakers might have cut out scenes that did not work. That's too bad, because this 2006 film (released in 2009) has a prescient premise and interesting, but underdeveloped, characters. Another script re-write or two was probably needed.

Honestly not a whole lot happens, and the things that do happen are crazy underdeveloped. But with characters as realistic and engaging as this, Carriers can make it work.

Tackles a lot of interesting aspects during the whole running time, but unfortunently never spends any expanding those ideas, turning the flick into a succession of post-apocalyptic situations you've seen before and better executed as well. It's still solid enough while it lasts and the performances are decent but not having any strict running thread to hold it together, just make Carriers passable at best. It's a bit of a drag.

Not a half bad movie by any means, it does a good job at creating an isolated world despite its low budget and the movie tries to be more of a drama than a horror movie, and it's a commendable effort. It's not always effective, I'm not sure why, I think it's just that there being no 'infected' to rely to on action, like a 28 days later, the movie just doesn't feel to have that sense of threat since you just get to see a few infected characters. It just never feels like the characters are in any real danger. But the performances are decent, if such a thing is possible, despite the characters being incredibly unlikable and one-dimensional. They just have no motivations. It's almost silly to say that when they're fighting to STAY alive, so that shoul be motivation enough. But I'm just not sure why the characters do what they're doing and things just happen that you'd think would be referenced later, but they're not. Maybe that's part of the movie being more 'believable'. Another part I liked was the ending and how the characters have an uncertain future, not knowing where this virus is going to lead them. That was cool, instead of the usual everything is 'fine despite everyone being dead and us being the only people on earth.' Overall, not a bad movie by any means but one with many flaws.
