Karen H I was looking for a new, undiscovered favorite romantic movie to escape to, but I didn't find it in this movie. The best parts were hearing the actors sing (even Harriet Samson Harris!) it would've been more enjoyable with more club scenes and less secondary plot distractions. The chemistry with Amy Adams and Alec Newman was forced and cold. I don't fault Amy, it's mostly Alec that seems stiff and painful. He seemed to come alive the most when he sang and when he cried for his mother. The plot was boring and could've done with more backstory for Angelica and Nate. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/07/23 Full Review Audience Member This was one of the lightest movies I have ever seen. For example, besides a Rated G bedroom scene & a few adult references, this film was pretty much a grown up Disney movie without the puritanism... Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review steve d Don't ask where it would be without Adams. I am not sure it would have been released if she wasn't the star. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Great music. Light plot. But that ain't the point Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member I like Amy Adams, that is why I gave a 5 star rating Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Peee youuuu! Seriously, this was baaaad! Not up to Amy Adams caliber of acting. The entire acting staff was horrible, bad B movie. The story line was so dull, I couldn't even fine a spark in Amy's eye, and it's suppose to be a love story. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Brian Orndorf DVDTalk.com The picture is a second-rate bit of daydreaming. It's a painful and relentless amateur-hour production all the way. Rated: D- Dec 28, 2009 Full Review Read all reviews
