Audience Member Unlike the other 1313 movies, this one has little nudity; just sexy shirtless cowboys with long johns. It still has the over drawn scenes, bad music, and bad effects. The whole movie is tinted yellow in an attempt to create the sepia tone of old westerns (though it's too saturated and high def). It has a more believable location than the usual 1313 mansion. The story is still dumb. And while the acting is still bad, it is a step above the usual 1313 movies. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member ★1/2 (out of four) I love the Old West and have read nearly everything out there on the Earps and Doc Holliday, and...Billy the Kid. So, out of curiosity I pulled this one up on Netflix. Now, I know who David DeCoteau is. He is known for his exotic thrillers that are less polished than the worst B movies. If nothing else, this film would be unlike any western I've ever seen. That is not a good thing in this case. Model Brandon Thornton plays William Bonney, aka Billy the Kid. He has just escaped from the fiery house in Lincoln, New Mexico and is now a wanted man and on the run. He arrives for shelter at a small town where time has stood still. But everyone in town is looking at a way to cash in on wanted Kid's arrival. This isn't the worst of DeCoteau's films, but that isn't really a compliment. Thornton as Billy is the most appealing and natural of the actors involved and he has star quality written all over him. Too bad he didn't strive to get into something of better quality. I get the director has a thing for young, shirtless dudes, but he clearly does NOT have a thing for making a good film. He didn't bother to make anything historically accurate, so why even do a period piece? Not all the acting was terrible which made it even more difficult. Knowing talent was being wasted just made it that much more frustrating to watch. If you somehow enjoy seeing the most mundane actions (walking, wrestling against being tied up, running away, etc) being played out for 5+ minutes at a time, then by all means watch this film.
