Neil Genzlinger New York Times The ominousness just keeps building. Apr 14, 2016 Full Review Michael Nordine Village Voice The film inspires almost no feeling at all - even the Friday the 13th movies bother giving the bad guy a backstory. Apr 14, 2016 Full Review Dennis Harvey Variety An effective variation on stalker/home-invasion thriller themes. Mar 11, 2016 Full Review Glenn Lovell CinemaDope Be prepared to be royally creeped out ... an exceedingly rude comment on the current real estate scene ... Archembault's sicko landlord belongs in the same fright gallery as Dieter Laser. Rated: 3/4 Apr 24, 2016 Full Review Zach Hollwedel Under the Radar 13 Cameras is far from a flawless movie, but it's a pleasant surprise and should do well to establish Zarcoff as an emerging filmmaker -- especially of the horror genre -- to watch. Rated: 6/10 Apr 22, 2016 Full Review Frank Swietek One Guy's Opinion It doesn't so much remake formula as tweak it, but despite a few serious logical lapses down the stretch, Zarcoff's slow-burning debut generates some genuine chills. Eric G Creepy and cringy. I did not like how the husband and his mistress acted so stupid in the moments before they died. The husband made himself a clear target and the mistress could have kept going but stopped in a place the bad guy could easily find her. The wife makes no attempt to defend herself. The end also has no climax, nothing really interesting except for a feeling that the story isn't over. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/03/24 Full Review Hatsuhito S 一定の(ほぼ)不労所得がある人は時間を持て余し、なんでもできるということ。 不動産を所有しているだけで信用もまた違う。 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/25/24 Full Review daniel n Creepy and unsettling with an absolutely disturbing landlord makes this a pretty solid horror flick. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Extremely creepy, but at the same time very good. I saw this with my 2 friends, and we all thought it was GREAT. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review dave s On the positive side, there were a couple of scenes with a sense of genuine dread, a good jump scare, and the villain was…well, villainous, I guess. On the less positive side, this movie felt a lot longer than the actual 90-minute running time, as there were scenes over the first half of the film that were ultimately pointless as they didn't advance the plot, develop a character, or do much of anything. The dialogue was awkward and the actors didn't help any. And it didn't really make a lot of sense in places. How does a wooden door with pillows nailed to it make the room sound proof? When the basement was discovered, why did they never return to explore it? When investigating a missing person report, why do the police run from the basement when they detect the horrible odor? In more experienced and capable hands, this could have been a great movie. As it is, it's not even a good movie. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Creepy. I watched them out of order, but either way they both kept my interest, creeped me out, and shocked me a little.... Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Read all reviews
