A Muslim ambassador exiled from his homeland, Ahmad ibn Fadlan (Antonio Banderas) finds himself in the company of Vikings. While the behavior of the Norsemen initially offends ibn Fadlan, the more cultured outsider grows to respect the tough, if uncouth, warriors. During their travels together, ibn Fadlan and the Vikings get word of an evil presence closing in, and they must fight the frightening and formidable force, which was previously thought to exist only in legend.

Another one that the majority of critics got utterly wrong. Before we had VIKINGS we had THE 13TH WARRIOR, a cleverly woven action story that spins the old Beowulf legend into an engaging action piece worthy of Kurosawa.

It's LOTR meets Vikings. I thought it look dated but I was pleasantly surprised. Like LOTR it still looks good. It looks better than most movies out now. I'm not sure how I missed this gem. Ignore the "professional" reviewers. I wanted some Saturday Night entertainment and boy did it deliver. Acting. Story. Cinematics. Action. Monsters. Gore. Humour. Adventure. A real ending. Ticked every box.

Synopsis
