Carla Hay Culture Mix This ghostly revenge movie starts off with a weak story and bad acting. It gets worse when it turns into a poorly made imitation of the 1973 horror classic The Exorcist. Jul 1, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

HL I somewhat liked the storyline but the ending was repetitive and could’ve been better. The VFX was trash however not sure why! Aside from that it was good. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/29/23 Full Review sandya k The movie was so slow that it was more painful than scary. Every scene was stretched to the maximum. Storyline not terrible, direction and acting average and scary scenes were non-existent because the flow was so so slow! Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/18/24 Full Review ananya r This was one of the worst "horror" movies ever. I was not scared even for a second. Let's, for a second, assume that the movie makers did not intend for it to be a horror movie (which they totally did by the way). Even then, just on the basis of the story and the logic of the story, it is a terrible movie. This movie is an insult to the audience's intelligence. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/28/23 Full Review Invincible W Worst of the 1920 movie series. "1920 Horror of Heart" is a disappointing addition to the 1920 movie series. Despite the presence of senior actors who try their best to salvage the film, it's hard to ignore the glaring issues with the screenplay and the performances of the rest of the cast. The film's storyline fails to engage the audience, leaving them disconnected from the characters' plight. The attempts to induce fear often fall flat and, at times, unintentionally provoke laughter rather than genuine scares. It's unclear whether the lackluster experience is due to budget constraints or other factors, but one thing is certain – it's a regrettable waste of time. For those looking to enjoy the 1920 series, it's advisable to revisit the older installments, as "1920 Horror of Heart" doesn't do justice to the legacy of its predecessors. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 08/24/23 Full Review Pranay K Peer pressure led me to watch this film, which had a totally non-sensical plot, extremely bad acting, and very poor VFX - but compared to Adipurush, which had 60 times its budget, it becomes baffling how much the team behind this film was able to pull off in the post-production process! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/27/23 Full Review Deke P I was very impressed with this movie, as I often am when watching movies from India. I give it 3 * 1/2 out of 5 max Rottentomatoes stars, and am very surprised that the consensus on RT is that it is only middling good. It is just released & I Saw it at the Nrwk AMC, 6.24.23, & only because I happened to be nearby. This is a 'horror' film & is all about demon possession. It's like "The Exorcist' on steroids. Possessed young daughter writhing in contortions on a levitating spinning bedstead. In demonic form she is able to throw large men around, she is able to climb walls and ceilings, etc. The plot is involved so I won't try to describe it much: A young pretty girl's father commits suicide by hanging, but everyone is in for a shock when his autopsy reveals he did not have a physical heart! She loves her father but, with his ghost egging her on, she vows to take revenge on her mother who disappeared and left her family in poverty years ago to marry a British man, who... it turns out... was actually very nice and rich and Hindi. Anyway, lots of action... But the daughter vows & conjures her fathe's ghost to help her get revenge on her mother. And the father's ghost agrees to get revenge to destroy his unfaithful wife and her new husband and their young daughter. A character explains that for the Hindis cremation is the purification of the soul for the afterlife of some kind. But we soon learn that if this is purification... no thank you... as the father turns out to be the bad guy, and so is his ghost. I try to learn something from watching India movies. Sometimes in these Hindi movies, they talk about God, as if they're monotheist, & not polytheists, but in this very same movie they have to pray to a goddess for a solution. It is interesting to observe that the modern culture is often portrayed as being in many ways surprisingly similar to our own in America. Their moviemaking style is state of the art. The acting is generally excellent. The male leads are often very charismatic. In their action movies, the men are often very handsome, muscular, mustachioed, how do you say 'macho' in Hindi, and charismatic, with deep sonorous voices. Not so much so in this family drama. Often their movies are a bit overblown, exaggerated and melodramatic. It was titled "1920" because it takes place in the year 1920, but with a few allowances it could have been today. & BTW, there seems to be some Hindi Indian fascination with the number or the year 1920. Look up 1920 in movie names on Rottentomatoes & there are several movies named 1920 with India names in the cast. This is an Indian (the 'dot' kind, not the 'feather' kind of) drama. So unless you speak Hindi, you are in for 2 hours of reading English subtitles, and I am usually up for it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/29/23 Full Review Read all reviews
