Chris S Excellent movie on the history of F1 that starts from a time when racing was truly life or death. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/29/23 Full Review Audience Member It gave me so much knowledge about Formula 1 world, its history and technological breakthrough. Especially the safety advancements it absolutely needed to improve over the years. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member I have really no knowledge of F1 racing but when I saw the trailer for this docudrama it seemed so interesting. I wondered if maybe the intriguing parts were shown in the trailer but that wasn’t the case. It’s a longer “movie” at just under 2 hrs but it captivated me intensely. Thankfully the rules and safety have changed since back in the 70’s, I still couldn’t imagine being a wife, girlfriend or daughter of a racer. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/09/19 Full Review Audience Member 'Life on the Limit' (or '1' as it is referred to here for some reason) is an interesting and well-made look at the history of F1. For those not interested in the sport, however, it's surely a bit of a snoozefest. Firstly, I hate to say it but I sometimes didn't really catch everything that Michael Fassbender said. I like the guy but, maybe narration isn't the best move for him. Anyway, this is a solid documentary with some cool archive footage and interviews. For the most part, it covers things that fans of the sport will already be familiar with but there is the odd extra in there too, such as how Bernie Ecclestone (unfortunately) managed to become so powerful. It's almost two hours long though and it's hard to imagine someone who isn't that interested in the sport really being won over here. It's a niche one for sure. If you aren't particularly familiar with the sport but would like to see a film that might draw you in then, 'Senna' is where you should be looking. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Very informative, probably the best F1 film you can find apart from Rush. Would recommend to any motorsport fan Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the most interesting documentaries of recent times. The only downside is if you aren't a fan of Formula 1, this probably isn't for you. Die Hards only. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Rich Cline Contactmusic.com Essentially a feature-length In Memoriam reel, this entertaining Formula One documentary thrills us with its whizzy editing while it traces the sport's deadly legacy. Rated: 3.5/5 Jan 10, 2014 Full Review Joe Utichi FilmFocus The stories are fascinating, but the interests of non-diehards might not last. Mileage will vary. Jan 4, 2014 Full Review MaryAnn Johanson Flick Filosopher Action packed, with tons of amazing archival footage, but if you don't already have an interest in Formula 1, it's unlikely you'll find one here.
