Barbara P A moving and thought provoking documentary. I am very glad I took a chance on this title. I've never had anyone close to me die from suicide but have myself attempted this course of action a couple of times. Depressed people are usually focused on how bad they are feeling but rarely take the opportunity to reflect on how this path affects the ones we love. Please, if you or someone you care about are having suicidal thoughts, ask for help. It doesn't make you weak, it makes you strong. Bless you and stay safe ♥️ Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review greg r The audience score is the right one here. This movie is far more a family story than the story of the extremely talented sister who chose to take her own life. Really not terribly interesting, nor engaging. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Thank you for being so Brave and for sharing your story!!! For being so honest and allowing people to see inside your life and your sisters life!! How People can be so Amazing and yet so Complicated at the same time! Your Love that Your Sister and Yourself had for one another is Absolutely Beautiful and I am sooooo soooo Sorry for Your Loss!!! xoxoxo Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member A powerful film that illuminates not only the victims of suicide, but how largely it can effect their loved ones. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Art Sadness & Depression is a very fine line. Beautifully Sad Film. Amazing Artistic Photography and a wonderful Grieving Sister whom I feel for greatly. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Haven't figure out if the director/stars problems are real, but since it's advertising itself as an honest look I have to wonder shy so many people enabled her own descent and would caution people away from watching! Katie Walsh Los Angeles Times Through this unvarnished and sometimes brutal soul-baring process, Litoff ultimately achieves an expression of her grief that is palpable and feels true to the viewer... a heartfelt tribute to her sister’s work and the connection that they shared. Jun 1, 2022 Full Review Ben Kenigsberg New York Times The more Hope's own obsession grows, the more involving the movie gets, even as it raises ethical questions about its making - and about those who continue to watch. Nov 30, 2017 Full Review Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter Rough-hewn stylistically and occasionally bordering on self-indulgence, 32 Pills: My Sister's Suicide nonetheless packs a powerful emotional punch with its unflinching portrait of two siblings dealing with past and present demons. May 11, 2017 Full Review Natalie Rahhal Daily Mail (UK) Hope's film documents the internal life of a person with mental illness, and the ways that her sister’s struggle and suicide led to the filmmaker’s own mental health and addiction crises. Jun 1, 2022 Full Review Kayla Cobb Decider There are no clear answers, emotions, or stories in this documentary. Everything is muddled and difficult in a way that seems to mirror its creator's pain. Dec 19, 2017 Full Review Gillian Branstetter The Daily Dot 32 Pills portrays a creative spirit hoping to refine her struggle and agony into work that would have remained poignant had the artist lived. We meet both a driven spirit and one too often forced to disappoint those around her. Rated: 3/5 Dec 14, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews
