See more Mark B Aug 23 Oh lawdy, apart from the high school amateur film club budget and script, where the hell is "Malay"? Did they mean Malaya? If so, what were merikuns doing there, since it was conquered by the Japanese the year before? Avoid this stinker at all costs. See more Fred B Jun 7 The script was terrible. The acting was almost as bad. The worst part was the military technicall details. Rubber bayonets, soldiers holding guns upside down, American soldiers in the pacific using German submachine guns, heavy machineguns that were carried like they weighed nothing (they even showed them as hollow boxes), machinegun belts wrapped across the top of the gun when shooting, soldiers sitting in front of campfires when they were supposed to ambush the approaching Japanese. The mistakes were so horrible that it was beyond laughable. Sargeants arguing with generals and colonel, Sargeant being referred to as sir. Chaplain with strange unknown rank, refused to pray but fighting right along side. In a combat zone and no one carrying weapons and saluting officers. How can I ever regain the time that this movie wasted? See more Timothy H May 27 The acting was second rate. The uniforms were wrong. You had a staff sergeant in charge the base everyone calling him sir. Guns were made in someone’s basement. The Japanese guns had rubber bayonets. This is one of the worst World War II movies I’ve ever seen. See more Dave C Apr 25 The prop department must have been on a tight budget.the heavy machine guns look like someone made them in shop class, the rubber bayonets wobble and they are firing bolt action rifles without re-loading . Walmart must have had a sale on exploding blood packs as they used plenty of them. The acting is ok in parts but the credibility of the whole thing is lost for me with the half ass, LAZY approach to realism. It disrespects the true story it’s supposed to be based on.
