Audience Member The acting in this movie is like watching porn without the sex. I had the appearance of a reality show on Bravo. The lighting is terrible and I'm not sure anyone that directed, edited, produced, acted or even the script supervisor has any experience. It's so poorly filmed it's distracting to the storyline. I'm sure everyone worked "hard" but somebody should know better than to invest in a production like this. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member I am a huge Bollywood movie fan and gave this a go when I should have given it a pass. About the only aspect of this movie that is correct is the social aspect of modesty. The dialogue was poorly written and executed. The score was adequate but I honestly was expecting more, the canned pop songs were atrocious and did not add anything to the movie at all and would have been better done with just full orchestra and no vocal. Rajkummar Rao was the only bright spot of the movie and I became as increasingly frustrated with the character played by Nargis Fakhri as his character was in the film. Nargis Fakhri came across stiff and disjointed and showed little comedic timing. Some of that could be attested to the dialogue that was honestly not that funny nor endearing. The romance aspect of the movie was left to what little relationship was far fetched at worst and absent at best. This movie would have served better as a drama focusing on the main story that the poor attempt at Rom-Com. The rest of the cast were unremarkable filler as was the initial wedding scenario. What little of the movie that shines is in the cinematography and sets. The director managed to grab the beauty and color of India along with the poverty of a multi faith based society. Unfortunately beautiful scenes were just not enough for me to recommend this movie to anyone else. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Super sweet film! Loved the characters. New spin on the "returning home" theme. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Udita Jhunjhunwala Firstpost Director Namrata Singh Gujral's Indo-American saga feels like a dated crossover movie of the genre that was being churned out in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Rated: 2/5 Oct 31, 2018 Full Review Kimber Myers Los Angeles Times Inorganic and implausible, this Bollywood-inflected rom-com features little comedy and even less romance. Oct 26, 2018 Full Review Reza Noorani The Times of India The chemistry between Nargis and Rajkummar is unconvincing. While easily Rajkummar pulls off his role as a cop who is torn between his love and his work, Nargis doesn't bring much to the table. Rated: 2/5 Oct 31, 2018 Full Review Kumar Shyam The National (UAE) The plot writing and the development of the two main characters in the film are weak.
