What to Know

Critics Consensus

7500 never achieves maximum altitude as a skybound thriller, but Joseph Gordon-Levitt's solid central performance manages to hold it reasonably aloft.

Within its basic parameters... it's tautly effective. Go to Full Review

The two-step between Gordon-Levitt and Austrian newcomer Memar as their respective plights shift and evolve is more pleasingly naturalistic than one might expect. Go to Full Review

The ending, however, is also the film's weak spot and consistently flirts with Stockholm syndrome silliness. By then, however, sweaty, nerve-shredded and palpitating, you'll just be glad to be back on terra firma. Go to Full Review

Politically speaking, that’s myopic, but even if we just look at that narratively, it’s mundane and derivative. That aside, 7500 is very well made. There’s a pragmatism in Vollrath’s direction that grounds the experience and makes it more visceral. Go to Full Review

Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s superlative performance in the film lifts a middling story and saves it from crashing upon impact. Go to Full Review

7500 needs an impressive Joseph Gordon-Levitt to keep its cruising altitude, but it still goes through too much turbulence. Go to Full Review

Matthew Q Sep 28 Quite possibly the dumbest movie I've ever seen. A man with a piece of glass (Yes glass!) starts slitting peoples necks while the other 90 passengers sit back watching the in flight movie. This is one of the movies where anyone with a braincell could have pointed out why this wouldn't work. See more Gabriel L Aug 12 Honestly, most of the times I watch a movie like this, it’s when I’m sleepy or too lazy to watch something that requires too much thinking, and this seems like a good movie for that situation. The acting might be the highlight of the film. I’d say it’s flawless and award-worthy, and it’s no surprise it was nominated and even won some awards. As for the rest… same old, same old, like usual for this type of movie, full of predictability and clichés. But here’s the thing: if you watch it without much commitment and with your “brain off,” you might even get emotional in some scenes (like I did). To finish, I found it kind of questionable, again, to stereotype Muslims as terrorists. That’s what lost the most points for me. And dude, this is a 2019 movie, they should already know how problematic that is. See more Maria O Aug 10 After the first 10 minutes the movie becomes absolutely thrilling for about 30 minutes straight. Towards the end it looses its touch. The screaming becomes a bit much from Vedat. Not a bad movie to watch, unless you're on an airplane. See more Natasha C Aug 8 I found the main protagonist Vedat insufferable. I mean I guess that’s the point… but it was really irritating to watch him be such a whiny little asshole, I almost turned the movie off because he was making my skin crawl. I really didn’t like the ending- trying to humanize him was even more frustrating to watch than his incessant crying and screaming. See more Jeremy A Apr 11 Great thriller. Great acting. Tense. 4.5* See more Bill I @WilliamIsaacs Jan 6 I thought it was a really entertaining movie. No boring parts at all See more Read all reviews
