Two couples head to a secluded desert hideaway for a weekend of relaxation and, unbeknownst to their friends, uneasy revelations. When they arrive, each couple is met by the same eccentric couple, claiming to have booked the rental on the same day at the same time. There is enough here to keep audiences watching. There are a few funny moments and some of the forays into full blown horror are a refreshing change of pace. 8 Found Dead can be a little too overbearing at times, but there is some enjoyment to be found.

Wasn't able to check it out at Screamfest '22, but I believe it won the award for best screenplay as well as best director. However, I finally got to see it when it went to VOD. I enjoyed the watch. I think some viewers rate all films equally, low-budget indie films with limited takes, locations, shooting days, cast constraints, and footage, the same as huge-budget films that spend more money on their lunch catering than indies like this get to spend on every element combined. But to each their own. I enjoyed several of the performances, and for me, the movie was more suspenseful than horror, as it was a lot of figuring out who the 8 found dead would be at the end and the reveal.
